Educator & Researcher in
Comparative & International Education and Applied Linguistics
I am an Assistant Professor & Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow in the Department of Linguistics at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland (more information on my current project can be found at https://multilingualrealities.ispan.edu.pl/). I received my Ph.D. in Education and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in higher education and educational technology from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. I am also a certified teacher for secondary schools and have taught German, English, Portuguese, and French to different groups of students in multiple countries. Before moving to Switzerland to complete my teacher preparation program, I received a Master of Education degree and a Master of Arts degree in linguistics and second/foreign language studies from the University of Mainz, Germany. My research focuses on applied linguistics, multilingualism in schools and society, international and comparative education, identity, migration/mobility, and power. Together with an amazing team of international scholars, we have created the Comparative Educational Leadership Lab (www.globalleadershipineducation.com), an open access learning platform with a focus on educational leadership across multiple country contexts and encourage everyone to use it. I serve as managing editor of European Education and advisory board member of the Comparative Education Review and am a consultant for the European Cooperation in Science & Technology (COST Actions) in the area of international student mobility (CA20115).
